Brian Bonnici , piano, theory, guitar

Brian Bonnici began studying piano at age 8, later attending St. Michael’s Choir School, which included daily singing, piano, theory, harmony and history. In 2000, he competed his Bachelor of Music at York University, focusing on composition and vocal performance. He later studied with Srul Irving Glick> and with Brian Newbould in England.

Brian has been teaching piano, guitar and voice since 2000. His students, who range from beginners to advanced, benefit from his gentle demeanour and teaching style. Many of them pursue their own musical careers. He strongly believes that making music fun is the best way to attract and educate new learners.

Bonnici has been playing organ since 1997, accompanying and leading the congregation at various churches throughout Toronto. He has much experience performing music at both weddings and funerals. His original composition for SATB “Mass of St. Michael” is currently in publication submission. Brian also composed and recorded the film score for “la Notte Infinita,” which won Best Picture at the Toronto Film School and premiered at the Toronto Italian Film Festival. He has performed and recorded music as a pianist, guitarist, bassist and singer with various bands throughout Toronto and as faraway as Bangkok. A recent project called “the Blue Cherubs,” produced a record that showcased Bonnici’s compositions and performances.
